In an effort to have a global impact on mental health, four best friends create a new kind of race – riding sixteen foot quad tandem bicycles against teams from around the world.

Ben, Jeff, Ryan and Hamilton — four long time friends — are organizing a bike race to raise money to provide counseling sessions for those who can’t afford them. But this is no ordinary bike race. This is six teams on 16 foot quad tandem bikes. These four seated bicycles represent the unity of the four riders, which parallels the race’s goal to not just raise money, but to bring people together in a way that encourages openness about struggles with mental health.

There is a lot of work to be done in order to make this event a reality. In the lead up to the race, the four friends will host fundraisers to garner support and speak about the cause, oversee the construction of the giant bikes and their delivery, as well as train other participants on how to actually ride them. No one here is a professional athlete, so communication and support are essential to keeping the wheels rolling.

The backdrop to all this is that Ben, Jeff, Ryan and Ham have their own lives to deal with as well. Things like being a new father, trying to get a business off the ground and struggling with depression, mean that there’s a lot to juggle as they organize and prepare for race day.

As everything comes together and the race gets on its way, teams will face hot, arid conditions, grueling hill climbs, steep descents and bike breakdowns – pushing all riders to their physical and mental limits. The four friends will be right there racing with the rest, hoping that everything they’ve set in place will work as planned to meet their fundraising goal.

Each of the four seats on these bikes has a specific role to fill, and if all four people are not working as one, then the bike does not ride. The teams are made up of people looking for connection and wanting to support a good cause. ‘All 4 One’ is not a story about winning a race, it’s a story about coming together.
